Meet Kyle “the kid” eikenes. international freelance tattoo artist, based in oslo, norway.
Kyle Eikenes, better known as "The Kid", is an internationally recognized tattoo artist based in Oslo, Norway. With over a decade of experience, he has built a reputation for his mastery of black and grey realism, specializing in striking portrait and animal motifs. His unique style and efficient techniques allow him to create intricate, high-quality tattoos in record time.
Kyle's journey began at the age of 16, when a chance encounter with a soon-to-open tattoo studio led him to an apprenticeship. At the time, he had just started studying architecture, but his love for art and the opportunity to turn his passion into a profession led him to leave school and fully dedicate himself to tattooing. It was a bold decision—tattoos were not as mainstream then—but for Kyle, the decision to become a tattoo artist was never about material success. It was about self expression, personal development, and social connection.

A Global Tattoo Journey
For over three years, Kyle traveled the world as an international freelance artist, visiting more than 30 countries with his tattoo-vlog project, "Ink the World." His mission was clear: to learn from the best, experience diverse artistic cultures, and continuously push the boundaries of his craft. This journey took him to some of the most prestigious tattoo studios, where he worked alongside industry giants like Niki Norberg , Teneile Napoli and Mark Wosgerau—the very artists who first inspired him.
Tattooing the Stars
Kyle's talent has attracted high-profile clientele, including many Norwegian celebrities and international football players. One of his most notable experiences was in Berlin, where he spent an entire week tattooing Valentino Lazaro during his time with Hertha Berlin.
The experience was a testament to Kyle’s reputation—not just as an artist but as a professional whose work is sought after by some of the world's most elite.
A Deeper Meaning in Ink
Beyond his technical skill, Kyle's tattoos carry a profound depth of meaning. With a keen interest in spirituality, quantum theory, and neurology, he sees tattoos as more than just body art—they are symbols of identity, energy, and personal transformation.
"Every tattoo tells a story, whether intentional or not. It becomes a snapshot of who you were at a specific moment in life—an artistic reflection of identity."
This belief in symbolism and personal storytelling drives Kyle to create not just tattoos, but timeless pieces of art with purpose. His approach to larger projects, such as sleeves and back-pieces, is to weave together elements that tell a cohesive and meaningful story—one that resonates deeply with each client.
